Course Description: |
|
This class is designed to teach students to safely perform everyday rigging lifts as well as more difficult rigging lifts that are occasionally encountered. Students learn the proper use of rigging mediums and the effects of sling angles. Students gain insight into the use of wire rope, lifting chains, nylon slings, hooks, eye bolts, lifting rings and other lifting components as well as the proper ways of rigging a load. |

At the conclusion of this course, students will be able to:
Calculate the approximate weight of the object to be lifted
Perform safe rigging lifts
Demonstrate an understanding of all safety aspects of rigging
Select proper rigging equipment
Calculate the effects of sling angles
Correctly select the proper sling
Demonstrate correct hand signals used in lifting |
